Elisabeth Wilborn

When tech doesn't function properly on a campus it is completely debilitating. Also the 1:1 could not be MORE critical. This is the world we have built, and that is required and expected of students and of teachers. As an elementary school teacher, I am also truly alarmed that this is on the table for discussion. (As a teacher only on the Long Range Planning Committee, I'm probably not supposed to comment, so take my fly on the wall writings for what they are worth).
Elisabeth Wilborn
02:14:22
The laptop and Edustation I received from the last bond was completely transformative in my teaching and I am typing on that laptop now.

Technology is the one thing that serves every single student, every teacher, every campus. The district has designed curriculum and uses programs such that every student and teacher use this technology (rightly or wrongly). Of course students can learn without technology. But that is not the setup AISD has. As an Art teacher, my main goal is to get the students to get off their devices and get messy with their hands. We still utilize the technology. Ok, I'm done.

Deanna Mercer
03:53:40
Why was Andrews, Pecan Springs, Harris, Dobie, Northeast dropped from full modernization, Sadler Means??? ……..Do members know the condition of these schools? Years of neglect??????
Deanna Mercer
03:56:18
Where is this going??? Is it based o equity for the most needy and neglected campuses from the Facilities’s priority list?????
BSC Valerie Tyler
04:12:21
I had to stop listening for a minute driving home to the hotel. I dont want to take time away from the group discussion, so can someone char me directly to explain the new budgets - sorry to have fallen behind but what is Type 2? is it a phased mod project or what. maybe just doing the deficiencies? SOrry again. Can someone just chat me directly?
BSC: April Clark
04:13:04
Type 2 is like a Sanchez ES type full mod rather than Menchaca which is Type 1
BSC Valerie Tyler
04:13:35
Oops, I see member to member chats is turned off. Thanks April\

04:17:08
Type 1 vs. 2 really is a matter of how good the bones or major systems of the school are. If it's got good bones, you can keep the skeleton of the school, foundation, etc. and save a lot of money. So it's not really a choice, it's a matter of if the school lends itself to a type 2 or not
Gail Maduro-Johnson
04:54:13
Wasn't there a safety concern raised at one of the LRP meetings about the front part of the school building?
Gail Maduro-Johnson

break
BSC Valerie Tyler
05:55:52
of the mods that were reduced, was there any other than Burnet that was phased? were the rest all type 2?
Megan Lamont
05:57:29
The mods that were reduced are not modernizations anymore. They are significant improvements but not a full renovation.
